NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (NUST-SEECS) library is the state of the art library in the areas of electronic engineering, communication system engineering and information technology. It has established it repute in the student community by providing excellent services and facilities to fulfill information needs of its readers. The library is equipped with the latest computers to access the digital library of more than 23000 research journals and 130000 online books. It has a collection of over 15,000 volumes in the area of databases, networking, e-commerce, object-oriented programming, data communications, circuit analysis, antennas, digital signal processing, microwave engineering, wireless communications, satellite communications, fiber optic communications, mobile communications, digital design, control systems, maths, physics, chemistry, management, Islam, Urdu and English fiction,etc.

Online Databases


All registered users are entitled to borrow books. Lending privileges differ for various categories. To borrow books, please present your NUST card at the Circulation desk.

Trained and highly qualified staff is available to give reference services from all online research databases. User may make queries by telephone, and e-mail  ( ).

In case an item is not located on the shelf, inquiry can be made at the Circulation Desk. A search will then be initiated and the user will be notified when the item is located. The located item will be held at the Circulation Desk for two days for the user to pick up.

Need a journal article or book that the NUST-SEECS Library don't own? Fill out a request form and we will retrieve the item(s) for you within a week. NUST Constituent Colleges, Schools are participating in this service.

NUST-SEECS Library welcomes suggestions from faculty and students, for the acquisition of materials that support teaching, study, and research at the Institute. Know of a book the NUST-SEECS Library should own? Fill out our "suggest a purchase" form and we will generally purchase the book. We put a rush order on it, and notify you when it has arrived so you can be the first to use it!
Before you make a request for purchase, please check our catalog, be sure that the item is not already available in the NUST-SEECS' collection.

The library staff gives a wide range of presentations to each class, to enable users to use the library to its maxim potential. These presentations educate users on the use of different online databases for literature searching. Presentations for small groups can be arranged on request.

The books and other reading materials are put into various sections according to the specific nature of the collections. These are identified by their relevant collection designations on the spines of the books and shelves. Library uses Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme to classify and shelve its knowledge resources. It starts from 000 and goes to 999 in decimal order.

This is the main collection comprising highly quality books related to NUST-SEECS academic programs. The major areas are information technology, communications system engineering, electronics engineering, basic sciences, language & literature, fiction, management, physics, chemistry etc.

A significant number of print and electronic reference sources are available on reference shelves.

In order to fulfill the very intensive research needs of its users, the library collects research papers to its users.

The library has been subscribing 15 international journals and magazines, ranges from engineering to management sciences. The current issues are displayed on racks which are reserved for periodicals. The back issues are bounded and shelved separately.

The library is maintaining archive of newspapers and press clipping about IT and NUST News, from The News, Dawn, Daily Express, and Nawaiwaqat.

The library has access to a wide range of electronic resources accessible through the campus wide network and from the library terminals.
